Health For All is offering a free smoking cessation class to Brazos Valley residents (18 or older) who want to quit smoking.
Tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke can lead to heart problems, different types of cancer, lung disease and death. In the United States, tobacco use is responsible for nearly 1 in 5 deaths; equaling about 443,000 early deaths each year. (Source: Cancer Facts & Figures 2013)
Dr. Robert Hutchison, Associate Professor Rangel College of Pharmacy, will help participants learn about their smoking habits, behavioral modifications, stress management and tips for quitting.
The class will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 24th at the B/CS Chamber of Commerce Office (4001 E 29th St, Suite 175 Bryan). Lunch will not be provided, but participates are welcome to bring in food.
